About Temple
ISKCON Thane, a project inspired by teachings of Srila Prabhupada has metamorphosed and grown to become a mega platform for devotional service, devotee association, spiritual discourses, spiritual functions, and soul stirring kirtans.
ISKCON Temple at Thane Balkum Piramal Vaikunth complex was inaugurated on the 17th of March 2024 by His Holiness Radhanath Swami Maharaj in the presence of His Grace Gaurang Prabhu and many other senior monks and devotees. Vedic mantras were spotlessly chanted and the rituals with fire sacrifices were meticulously performed for the installation of the deities Their Lordships Sri Sri Radha Govinddev ji. Abhishek with various juices, milk, honey and tender coconut was done followed by Pushpa Abhishek. Then the gorgeous Radha Govinddev deities were installed upon the altar and opened to public darshan.
Queues of devotees keep thronging to the temple. There is no looking back and all roads lead to the temple now. It was not just the inaugural day that found housefull public but day after day, every single day there is footfall as much as or more than the inaugural day. Any weather condition, any traffic condition, people line up outside the gate before the opening hours to have their first glance of the Lord. Radha Govind dev ji has won over millions of hearts.
There are 27 main cooks and around 70 to 75 assistant cooks serving through 3 bhoga times at the deity kitchen preparing delicious sumptuous Mangal bhog, Raj bhog and Sandhya bhog.
Flower seva where in garlands are being made for shringar in the morning and evening is being carried out by a dedicated team of devotees.
There are 7 different teams each for the morning shringar and Shayan seva who seamlessly serve behind the scenes for the beautiful darshan of the Lordships.
Shoe stand seva is one which is done with utmost devotion and humility wherein some senior devotees are also spotted. On an average it its catering to ~12000 shoes daily
Some of the services started after the smooth functioning of the deity services are the book stall, crowd management, thaali plate seva and the prasadam stall.
Matchless Gift shop was opened on the Akshaya Tritya day. While the consumer market nicely manipulates this occasion to sell their products it was the best time to launch the Matchless Gift shop to encourage people into meaningful spending. No wonder the spiritual items here are selling hot cakes. Every second day stocks get sold out.
